Where to go.... Early September

Hoping to go away to get some decent kiting in, but it's so difficult to decide where. Everyone says Egypt is good but wind stats don't look good. Dakhla is a faff to get to (been in March). Also considered Gokova and Fuerteventura. Anyone got any experiences of these places to help me decide!?

Anyone been to Egypt early September?

Hi, The wife and I are hoping to go somewhere to kite for a week. As this is our main priority has anyone been to Egypt in previous years at this time? It's difficult to find trusted wind stats online. What's people's experiences? How many kiteable days and what kind of wind speeds? Failing that we ...

Re: Shinn Monk Forever Vs North Gonzalez

These are the only 2 boards I've owned funnily enough. I learnt on a Gonzalez 143 and later upgraded to a monk forever 136 when I got a bit better. I went back to the North a couple of times and there was a huge difference. The Gonzales felt really unforgiving on your knees through chop as it seemed...

RRD spares

I'm after a replacement bungee safety line for my 2010 RRD global bar. Does anyone know where I can get spares from? I've searched the internet and only found it in the US.

Cheers

April - Where to go?

Hi, My wife and i are hoping to go somewhere for a week/10 days in the beginning of April. After loads of research the only place which looks like its gonna guarantee kiteable conditions is Dakhla. We were thinking of Egypt for value for money but wind doesnt look great then?! Has anyone got any sug...

Re: When to make the switch to C kites??

Fair point. We bought our current quiver second hand to make sure we wanted to pursue the sport before spending a lot. We have now decided to get some newer kites and We've seen a good deal on the GP which we might take up...

When to make the switch to C kites??

I've been kiting for about 18 months and am at a stage when I'm jumping, riding toe side, carving turns etc. I feel like I'm probably ready to make the transition. My wife however, has not quite progressed to this and we share a quiver. She can ride upwind and turn and her kite control is very good....

Re: ion element westsuit

I second Claudios point. Best thing I ever bought. I can stand on the beach looking smug whilst my mates and wife run off after a session to get changed whilst freezing cold!

Re: Mauritius in September: Shorty?

We did a week in Le Morne at the Dina Robin and then a week up north near Anse La Raie. We also did a days kiting in Belle Mare. At Le Morne there is a club Mistral by One Eye and you can pay for locker rental which gives you rescue too. The guys are really friendly there. The flat water spot is aro...

Re: Mauritius in September: Shorty?

We went in June and you definitely needed one then. Some days it was fine without but much more comfortable with one on. We borrowed some crappy ones from Club Mistral when we were in Le Morne. What's your level? Me and my girlfriend were beginner/intermediate when we went and we found a great kite ...

Upwinding in light wind - kite technique

My question is, what should I be doing with the kite when trying to upwind in lighter wind conditions? I see other people doing a better job of it than me so I guess my techniques not quite right. Should I be doing large kite movements ie sineing from almost the top of the wind window and down towar...

Where can I find a Cab Crossbow 2009 Pulley Upgrade Kit?

Hi all, As the title suggests I am after a Cab Crossbow 2009 Pulley Upgrade kit. I had a pulley fail on me mid session when in Mauritius. Luckily I found a friendly instructor who gave me a replacement but I now want to replace all Pulleys to be on the safe side. Anyone know where I can get replacem...

Brazil kitesurfing holiday - recommendations please!

Hi, Has anyone been to kite North Brazil? My partner and I have just booked flights for a two week honeymoon, flying into Forteleza. We are thinking of spending some time in Cumbuco but ive read some good things about Jeri and Prea. Does anywhere stand out as the place to go? And has anyone got any ...
