Board loss and subquent coast guard time wasted at Lancing 3/6/17

Some time on the afternoon 3rd a board was found at Lancing, que Lifeboat shouts, helicopter search and some very excited Goblins (coastguard). The person (so it would seem) was located at home safe and well at home having just lost their board and not reported it. In my mind fault lies 100% with th...

Re: Custom boards

NS and Adams are west country. Supernova is East Sussex. There isn't nor likely to be another Colin Mulloch.

Moo is up somewhere New Brighton way I think.

Give a few shapers a call! Or better bin those straps!!

Re: Custom boards

Moo Customs makes custom windsurf boards, think they hold some kind of speed record with Thorpey? Lot of shapers out there who'll make custom (kite) surf boards a few friends have had them made by Supernova. I'd be surprised is the likes of Adams, CG customs or Nigel Semmens wouldn't too.

Re: Grease for Hydrofoil

Pretty sure the bolts will be Stainless Steel probably A4 (on many cases this is inscribed on the head of the bolt) important as its going into or through aluminum the worries are two fold galvanic isolation and to prevent galling (welding). Stainless into Al galls very easily as does (though techni...

Re: Grease for Hydrofoil

Tef gel is best (opinion), Silcon grease is fine. Ptfe based should be fine too. My assumption is you're using stainless in aluminium or alloy of?

Re: Foil Boards

Don't think I'll ever go full time, foiling is fun but just another trick for light winds. Started on a north which was slower and predictable also the the safety bars helped a lot. Was actually up in one 2 hour session save for some equipment failure. Then got a Moses sliente which is awesome took ...

The gloves thread

Well it's twatting cold again and most of us need to wear gloves. Having brought at least one pair a year for probably about the last 20 years I'd be interested in poling opinion on what people use for kiting and why? Are there any I've not tried which are good? I've started below with some of my ow...

Re: what happened to kitecrowd ?

All any forum needs is controversial content, the more posts the more alive the forum is. @mike B (in response) Idiots tend to be controversial as do trolls, nothing wrong with a good idiot! There was one on the windsurfing forum not so long ago (racist, seemingly stupid, misogynistic, overly opinio...

Re: what happened to kitecrowd ?

I object to kite crowd on principle of needing to pay a £1 which is a shame as it was far more active than this forum.

Re: Ride Engine harnesses - any problems?

I guess as I started this thread I should bang another post in as I think my story on RE harnesses is noteworthy. I went to back to see the folks at FC and they swapped my medium with a small (many thanks again to them) which technically should not have fit but did..... This was again a disaster eve...

Re: This Forum... what's happened? It's like no ones home. Also the Core GTS4 any good?

1)At 40 you're still a child. 2)SUP ing makes you go blind. 3)I hammered my knob flat years ago when someone said it was the only way I could date a Chinese girl. 1 - I chuffin' hate when people state thing like that. Doing various things hurt enough now and recovery times feel so long compared to ...

Re: This Forum... what's happened? It's like no ones home. Also the Core GTS4 any good?

Don't we all sound like sprightly social media loving youth, discussing aches and pains with 'MAMIL' like tendencies. On this subject, I do note as I progress rapidly toward my 40th year if I don't stretch especially pre run or cycle I am effectively disabled for days afterwards. Having gone a bit '...

Re: This Forum... what's happened? It's like no ones home. Also the Core GTS4 any good?

The forum doesn't seem to get enough through put, in all fairness kitecrowd doesn't seem to either (but then one has to pay a quid to post on there, so on principle I hope that does die a death). Perhaps everyone has moved on to social media where it is seemingly acceptable to post with such fucktar...
