I've got one. The quality is much better than youtube. haven't got anything on this pc that I can upload. Certainly good enough on a sunny day to see the action. The tricky bit is getting it pointing the right way. It has no viewfinder and it isn't that wide angle, so its a bit of a fiddle to take s...

Definately spinnaker tape, lasts forever if done properly.

Could even try it on the kite...

Yeah, I remember that. No idea where to find it. He plummets for a long way before the kite slows him down.

Ooher, well at least it's an honorable injury, not some citiboy trips over kerb carrying his bonus cheque incident. Time old Squidge bought a nice safe stable T2 with loads of float to make tricks like that work without slam dunking.. Hmm, talk of new kites wouldn't go down too well at home right n...

Hi Alex I'm currently out of action, but on windy days there are generally going to be people out. If its westerly/NW have a look at Ladies Bay, N/Ne Pembroke. During the week people are either out after 5, but there are a couple of part-timers who will be out when the tide is right (half tide up at...

I guess the problem with the board breaking is that you never see the upside (ie "at least my leg didn't break"), only the downside ("my board broke, what a piece of sh*t"). I think I am in Tim's mindset but not because I'm a cheapskate, but that I purposefully chose the board because it claimed to ...

Yeah yeah, so the kite and board are fine, I was probably to blame etc....
whatever! :-D

Anyway, fracture clinic removed the cast today and put me in an air boot. I can start putting gentle weight on it and should be fixed in 6 weeks! So as broken legs go its as good as it could be.

Still in the dark over how long etc, have an appointment today at fracture clinic to find out. It was feeling fine until, my 3 yr old daughter crashed into it this morning; she learnt some new words... In wind terms I guess its happened at a good time cos July August is normally crap, but it definin...

Oh, and I meant to say I can confirm that Skywalker boards are indeed "kiteloop proof", given that I landed mine hard enough to break my leg, with apparently no damage to the board....

It turns so fast you can generate a lot of lift in lower winds. I think sub 25kts would be pushing it. It was working nicely at 30-35 (I'm 85kg) so I guess up to 40kts would be doable. I was doing a foward rotation and overlooped the kite, flat landed the board and took the fuoll force on one foot. ...

A touch of the Vapours

Had a go on a 7m Vapour yesterday. 30-35 kts nicely powered, lovely kite if a bit flappy in the leech, turns VERY fast. Too fast as it turns out.... Landed badly after looping it and broke my fibula (lower leg) :( ho hum. On the bright side I finally got my helmet camera set up right to film the act...

I lurk sometimes, but not often. I don't think any guernsey kiters regularly come online. we see each other all the time anyway! PM me when you are over.
