Re: Neoprene Gloves For Mountain Biking

Neoprene gloves will be much too sweaty, get some proper ones!

Re: Kiteboard Gokova 2013 review

It's good.
I had a week there in early September and it was 7 out of 7.
It was a bit like Tenerife used to be before the euro, cheap, relaxed, nice people. I'll be back.

Re: Calling all VW T5 Owners

Don't worry about all that mechanical stuff, just go for the California.
That timed heater to make it all toasty when you get back from a winter session is all you really need!

Re: Not using my leash today

Why should it make any difference if you are in a river current?
Are not you and your errant board moving at the same relative speed?

Re: Self landing

Anchoring for both take off and landing is the safest possible, assuming you have selected something solid to anchor to. Especially safe for launch because you aren't even attached to the kite! I have a polyester climbing strop and carabiners, loop it round a boulder or to a permanent metal loop set...

Re: How long since you were last out kitesurfing???

Jan 19th, cross off at Exmouth.
There were 10 of us out on a Tuesday early afternoon, hasn't anyone got any work to do?

Have been out at least once a month on British waters through 07,08 and 09, but it looks rather like this month I will lose that streak.
Quite strong on the bicycle though :-)

Re: Kite Surfboard Travel Bag design

Some decent bags are ruined by zips that corrode merely when they glimpse the ocean.
Message to bag makers..........Put a decent zip on it!

Hadn't realised that 3D and 3D IMAX was different like that, thanks for the steer.
Soft chairs and waitress service? Not here in Bristol. You northern buggers get it comfy!

Re: "Avatar"

Lambs already!? Poor buggers 'll get cold. You are right about the film Wavy, it will be remembered because it was the first big one of it's type. I saw it at a normal Odeon complex and the 3D seemed to work fine, I ducked at one point. I bet they had the line "I love the smell of burning blue ...

"Avatar"

Cracking effects, the 3D is really good. I suppose that raises the bar, every big film will have to be 3D now. Pathetic script though, it's as if they rounded up every cliche they could find, shame they didn't spend some of the £350 million on the script. ( I'll forgive them the "Apocalyse Now&...

Re: Laird Hamilton @ Peahi 12/07/09

In the early 1980's I was at Poole for the Speed Sailing Champs. Was having a pee when I realized it was my hero Laird peeing next to me.
A little drop of his wee splashed onto my foot, I was very fast that day, but it's rather worn off now.

Oh yes, and what about the pleasure of being whipped in the face by that strap that you use to pull the zip up.
PUT A BIT OF VELCRO ON IT!

Re: Magazine Wetsuit Reviews

Most are good, but still let down by stupid detail failures. Already been complaints about no leg velcro, how about on my otherwise vg Excel a zip that catches on that little flap that sits just inside. And that little pocket for your key, I don't work in the circus, I can't possibly reach that! Col...
