Re: Brazil, flight info please!

To be fair €100 sound pretty good for oversized baggage to Brazil. Prob pay not much less for taking kit to Spain.

Re: Board loss and subquent coast guard time wasted at Lancing 3/6/17

Ditched my kite in the Thames, reported it, got a call from RNLI the next day and they had gone and got my kite as a training g exercise.

Re: Self Launching - Anchor vs no Anchor

In good conditions self launching/landing untethered is fine but when the conditions are poor and you really need a safe method to self launch/land then tethered is only way for me. I generally use beach/street furniture, something solid and immovable...although I have used my board buried in the sa...

Re: which kite to learn megaloops?

Forget mega loops, if you are only just starting to loop the kite then you are a long way off. Once you have kitelooping dialled in then it will be a natural progression to mega loops. You can learn to kiteloop on any kite, start with kiteloops and down loops on the water, then start adding loops at...

Hah, when you find a kite that flies exactly the way you want, why would you then chase after the next new thing? Spot on. I can see why you don't like Torches GRF, everyone who buys one never buys a new kite again, not much money to be made  Nothing to be scared of with 5th lines, still the o...

Re: This Forum... what's happened? It's like no ones home. Also the Core GTS4 any good?

No kitelooping for me either, too old. On the rare occasion I don't get out I'm just happy that I remember what way round my lines go these days. Had some young lad ask me if it was my first time at Southend the other week......was kiting there when he was still at primary school FFS. Haha I know e...

Still being a pikey and flying my 2007 Torches.

Although due to work/kids I rarely kite anymore.....do a lot more mountain biking these days, less weather dependent.

Re: North Kiteboarding Click Bar - The Gamechanger!

Moving parts are always a great idea on kitebars  In reality you should not have to keep adjusting the depower, just set it and leave it alone, only in emergencies should you need to depower a kite that much, or maybe when on land and to have to repeatedly twist that thing to power it up.....b...

Re: Which 4 line kite to replace Raven and Torches?

Not sure you'll get that connected powerful feel on a 4 line kite, but RPM & Park seem to be popular choices. I'd be interested in your Torches and Ravens if you want to sell them, I kind of collect them as they don't make them like they used to

Re: BKSA Membership/insurance

I can tell you there have been many claims at the BKSA some years none. Around about 10 in worst year as I recall and a few of £10,000 claims paid out. So yes claims are made and paid out on Still very vague, not sure why the insurance companies don't want us to know what the policies cover. Can an...

Im glad I was
What happened then? In 12 years of kiting I'm still yet to hear the details of any claims. It's one of these things that everyone should have but seems no one has ever had a claim???

Re: Trainer kite

As above, waste of money really unless you are a total newbie, even then they teach you bad habits. Flying a trainer kite is extremely easy plus you'll get to use one for about half hour on your course which will be more than enough.
