Re: Surfboard for UK conditions - Dom's view
Yeah it definitely helped me!. I was on a standard short board for a while. Would be interested to hear Dom's thoughts on the recent explosion in cut off designs in the Tomo Vanguard mould..

If you're a bit different in weight, you could get away with three kites to cut down a bit. 12/10/7 or similar. Can always share the big kite on light wind days. Although western aus is windy, it rarely gets more than 9m weather in Asia.

As above - or melt with the tip of an iron.
Consider 3/4 length legs... for some reason warm knees works for me!

Cheers for the responses all. Might stay away for the time being, until I get somewhere with a flat sandy beach break! The search goes on.

BWS boards - build quality?
Anyone had any experience with the BWS boards build quality? My local eats boards - shore dump to pebbles - so looking for something that is going to last at least a year or two but still be good to ride. Interested in the drifter or the white noise and don't want to put my foot through it within th...

Got a week off as above and the other half cant get it off, so i'm free to do whatever i please!
Anyone know of any organised trips/holidays going on to anywhere windy and/or wavy? UK or Europe most likely.
If not, might organise something myself if anyone else is off that sort of time!

Re: Road trip advice.
If you're thinking of Cornwall, check out Dom Moore's spot guide here:

For flat water, you won't get better than Exmouth on a NW or S/SW.

Re: Let's talk about.. custom surfboards!
Not the most useful answer but thanks for the input..
Why would I spend 500 odd quid plus shipping, plus import tax to a big American company when I can support a local shaper and a local shop for half the cost and get something I really want..?!

Let's talk about.. custom surfboards!
So I met a local surfboard shaper the other who has made a number of epoxy kiteboards - he said he'd like to do more so ask me if i wanted one - naturally, I said I'd have a think about what I'd like, but having not that much idea about surfboard shaping thought I'd put it to you lot! I like my 5'8 ...

Re: Kite Bags (the ones they come in)
No one mentioned Slingshot yet?. Best bags I reckon. But could do with opening a bit bigger.
My PL ones are pretty decent and have all described. Bit too much padding though.
I saw a kitebag the other day with a separate "wet pocket" for wetsuit/boots etc which I thought was a great idea.

Cheers Blast.. Didn't see that.
Just had a look.. £800 is a little steep for a kite board in my eyes. Good looking though!

HB Surfkite boards?
Anyone ridden these offerings from French maestro Herve Boure?

Or anyone considering distributing them in the UK? Think they look great and would be keen for a demo!
