Re: Impact vest with pockets?

Use open palm mits.... These are the best glove for avoiding that forearm burn and as an added bonus when you don't want/need them you can just peel them back and they'll stay put around you're wrists. This way you can put them on and off whilst riding and no need to mess around with pockets..... I ...

Re: Self launching

I made a land anchor out of a corkscrew type thing I picked up in Lidl (meant to hold up a spinning washing line). Just attached a carabiner to the anchor which I connect to the Chicken loop and have separate leash (pegged to the ground) connected to the fifth line (with a bit of slack). Works a tre...

Re: Foot Straps

Know where your coming from.... Had the Shinn Sneaker X's on my Monk FE, whilst they were perfect in bare feet, in boots my feet slid all over the place. Initially thought it was the boots, but after putting an old set of Nobile pads and straps on the issue was resolved. Tend to now put Nobile pads ...

Re: Should i upgrade??(nobile t5)

Not a bother guys. If you can, try to get a demo on one, am sure you wont be disappointed.

Have given a few local guys a go on mine and heard nothing but praise, envy and grumbling (that they now have to go find the cash to buy one themselves).

Re: Should i upgrade??(nobile t5)

I'm with John.B on this one. Was on a 2008 Nobile 555 which I thought was great (apart from the spray in the face). Missus bought me a Monk Forever last Christmas (as she happened to see me looking longingly at them on the web). Jebus, what a difference!!!! Dont think I would have bought it myself a...

Re: Any one had good things to say about the cheap windmeter

Bought one about 5 years ago when I was just starting out. Complete waste of money, read anything from +/- 10 knots wrong.

Bought a Windtronic which is perfect as you don't have to angle directly into the wind to get a true reading.

Re: Which gloves and hat?

After trying multiple different gloves (straight and claw), which all gave me forearm cramp I bought a pair of open palm mits (mine are the Mystic ones). They're brilliant!!! Zero cramp, nice and warm, and you can pull them off and on whilst on the move (even when off you can sit them in front of yo...

Re: Second kite

Hi I'm the same weight as you and also ride Rebels (all be it 2009/2010's) with a 134x42TT & 5'10" wave board. Have 6, 9, 12 & 16 which cover most conditions (in the west of Ireland), but use the 9 & 12 most often (85-90% of the time). If you're sticking with Rebels would recommend getting a 12, the...

Re: What wetsuits ye using??

Any experts on sizing Every wetsuit manufacturer uses a different cut therefore the only way to get a good fit is to try on as many suits as possible. No two people have the exact same body shape, neither do wetsuit manufacturers..... eg I'm a medium and find that Mystic suits do not fit me at all,...

Re: Air China - urgent help needed please!

Hi

Equipment is very expensive to buy on Boracay given the logistics of shipping kit there. You can rent but it's fairly expensive, about US$50 per day if I recall (that was about 5 years ago).

Probably best to invest in a new bag

Re: Board leash

The problem is everytime he comes of his board he gets dragged downwind very very quickly. He is 12 years old and very very light, his arm is so short that body dragging just dosnt seem to work, he knows how to do it and im watching him do it, the board just gets away from him to quickly. Also as h...
