Re: Flexi Kites on sale £375
I've never flown the Shiva but a friend here had some and liked them a lot. How old is it now, three years? The bar while refreshed is still the same concept as the 2006 one, I'd guess they are just clearing out old stock now to minimise the pain when the last person switches off the lights, but th...

Re: Flexi Kites on sale £375
How can they sell kites at this price and make any profit to cover overheads? 375 for a brand new kite must be pretty close to production cost. and shouldn't a 13m cost more than a 5m kite who is making these decisions lol

Re: Switch kites - anyone used them?
I purchased an element v1 when they first came on the scene. Quality of the kite was very good. Back then the designs and bar/safety was behind the competition. from what I have read they have come a long way in their designs since then. Prices are very competitive compared to retail although there ...

Good to hear he is doing well. I guess with this type of event accidents are inevitable, although I think the safety boat should have got to him sooner.

Landing backward at that speed must have been one hell of an impact. Would wearing some kind of head protection reduce the risk to competitors?

Sorry to hear you are moving on but good luck with your new venture, I would imagine there is more money in flooring than kites! I never purchased from you but I always thought you had some great deals . I met you when you did a blade demo down at Shoreham and you seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I...

Re: 50% off this Weekend sale
looked at the site and they only seem to sell one water kite now - the shiva. maybe they are thinking of getting out of kitesurfing and focusing on land kites. given the number of brands chasing the relatively small market it might not be a bad business decision.

Re: Kitesurf Armarda going ahead in Offshore winds
From the International Kiteriders Association Instructor Handbook - 5thEd Addendum "Following debate at the 2012 summit it was concluded that 'Offshore' is in fact a matter of perspective and that the majority of students will at some point come across land, thus rendering the wind 'Onshore'. If th...

Kitesurf Armarda going ahead in Offshore winds
I just saw that the Kitesurf armarda is going ahead in what the Met office forecast to be a marginal NNE wind. Seems like a bit of a wild call to me!

Is it seriously the same guy still at it? I can probably take a guess what the money is for.

Re: What would happen if you didn't buy a new kite?
I think you could use kites a lot longer than most people keep them for. although with older kites they tend to lose performance as the lose their shape and there is also a greater risk of something like a bridle attachment failing sending it into a death loop or dropping you out the sky on a jump

Re: Flexifoil
judging by their website they appear to be focusing more on land kites now. they only sell two water kites, the shiva and force. wouldn't be surprised if they didn't exit kitesurfing all together at some point.
