Re: Shinnster vs Sector 60?
If you dont mind losing a bit on the low end I think you will be better off with the shinnster. As much as I like the sector for light winds blasting along with a large race kite and a GPS seeing how fast I can go, the amount of fun I have had on the Shinnster is on another level. Personally I think...

Re: Shinnster vs Sector 60?
I have a sector and shinnster. in my opinion the shinster cannot compete with the sector at the low end. however it will get going in pretty light winds, certainly less than a twin tip. Shinnnster is great fun and has become my favourite board -endless fun and effortless to ride. if you are looking ...

Re: Another great test for Core, light wind content.
Where did they come from? Er tricky one that, but just a clue, they're a magazine could it be from surveying their readers? Just a thought, could be wrong, they could have just made it up, you know the old saying there's lies, damn lies and statistics. But it suits my purpose for now trying to enco...

I would love to know where those statistics came from. given those figures are to 4 decimal places they must have had 10000+ people take part in the surveyGRF wrote:Not surprising some mags are getting survey results like this then..

Re: Stagnant 2nd Hand Market
The second hand market prices are also limited by how long kites last. in my experience if you heavily use a kite for 3 seasons it is going to be on its last legs.

Re: Stagnant 2nd Hand Market
A big factor is the number of deals on new kites. Cabrinha seemingly dumping lots of kites at well below rrp, flexifoil selling everything half price etc All of that means second hand kites will sell but only at the right price.

Re: Best Sellers?
do you think the size of the market for kites is expanding or contracting in the UK? I wouldnt be surprised if the number of active kiters was static, however people seem to be keeping their gear longer.

Re: Pagham kiting??
I have only been there when it is E or ENE which it is very good for. From what I understand you cant kite in the estuary but other than that it seemed you could do what you wanted. If you are staying there and it is SW I would go to East Wittering which is close by.

Re: Is Evolution Boardsports in Lancing Closing
That is a shame. No shops seem to last more than a couple of years on this stretch of coast. I regularly drive by the old S2AS shop in brighton and it still has the kitesurfing murial above what is now a dry cleaners.

Is Evolution Boardsports in Lancing Closing
Does anyone know if Evolution Boardsports in Lancing is Closing? A couple of people have told me this recently and I might pop in to see if they have a deal on a 9m.

Re: New to surfboard
unless you plan to ride serious waves check out a shinster makes strapless fun and easy and don't bounce like a surf board which is what makes strapless hard

Re: Foil Boards
Helmet and impact vest, actual collisions with the pointy bits are exceedingly rare/unlikely. Think about it, your meaty a meter away from the pointy stuff, race board and sector you have three 40cm fins that are much sharper a damn sight closer to you. Thanks alot for the info. I dont know anythin...

Re: Foil Boards
I am very tempted to get a foil board for next season. The idea of gliding above the water looks incredible fun. How dangerous is it compared to a regular race board? I sort of have this idea in the mind that the foil can flip up and take your head off
