Re: Aaron and his ACL

Sorry to hear that. It does seem that alot of top professional kitesurfers (especially freestylers) trash their knees.

Re: For those of you wanting to kite in poole harbour

Any location where you can be dragged into a solid object is potentially lethal, which is basically any beach with groynes or walls. Doesnt take much to kill you in a head first collision with a solid object.

Re: Where did you purchase your last kite ?

Ex demo kites directly from a distributor online. Involved courier based demo. Buying new blind online would need to be priced like the switch stuff and backed up by credible reviews. The Switch model is that you contact one of their team riders and get to demo their kite. I think Best also operate...

Re: Where did you purchase your last kite ?

Purchased the Element from the Switch website a couple of weeks ago. Purchased it blind based on online reviews and looking at the design. Like the above poster havent really been to kitesurf shops much atall, maybe once a year maximum prefer to have stuff delivered.

Nice! Doubt I will ever have the minerals to do a mega loop myself though. Have people been knocked out hitting the water landing them badly?

Re: Upwind one-handed problems

Also if you are powered up going upwind is ALOT easier. One thing that can help alot especially when the wind is lighter is trying to use the energy from waves to point higher by surfing them, well not really surfing but using one like a never ending slope that you keep going down at an upwind angle.

Re: Upwind one-handed problems

The best advice I had when learning was from a Shannon Best video. In it he said imagine there is an arrow going through your hips from one side to the other, where you point that arrow is where you are driving the board towards.

Re: New to Brighton and Hove

There are 3 main Kitesurf Areas: 1) King Alfred beach in brighton: gets good waves, not for beginners and there are groynes 2) Shoreham no groynes, large open space gets sea breeze in the summer so is windier than brighton but is a bit choppy - not so crowded 3) Lancing has strongest sea breeze, som...

Re: Marc Jacobs Riding the New Switch Element

Are you the brighton switch pimp? If so could I have a go on your element? I am not really a pimp lol, just have a 13 element and really like it. Very stable fast kite with nice power, and you can get 2 kites for the price of one since you buy direct from the manufacturer  . We can hook up a...

Re: Hadlows Vid 'Aspire' left me cold, what do you think?

Liked this video alot. Although I am not a big fan of slider videos - since like most kitesurfers I have not tried this - the overall production quality made me want to watch it twice
