Nice little vid'

The Gorpo HD looks like it does the job, I can compare that to one I did on a day where the weather was similar and the resulst from this are far better

You should do a small clip of the tack at 2:28, may help other get that kind of transition nailed!

yeah I agree with Tony...I'm just about to start riding waves and I need all the help I can get. Hey Greenroom did I see you putting on a leash at the beginning?

Happy to break down the tack move (will do it when I get a minute) if folks think it'll help. I did put on a leash - personal choice, and not the safest, but it saves dragging around a lot if trying new stuff.

Still playing around with the GoPro HD. This one was shot in 960p which maximises the vertical aspect. Might try it in full widescreen next time to compare results. Great little cam though.

Nice vid. Is there a wave event on up there this year?

I was thinking of venturing north to Fraserburgh (live in Edinburgh), any suggestions on where to stay? Also what was your first surfboard as I would like to make the transition to a surfboard from a twin tip when I get into the surf.

Nah - wavemasters is in Ireland this year. Best places to stay hotel-wise would be the Tufted Duck in Stcombs or Heath Hill in Memsie, or if you want to camp there is a camp site right on the beach.

I started out using one of my wife's old surfboards, a little 5'7" fish. Just pick up a cheap old surfboard to start off to see if you like it.

Thanks for the the advice :) I thought the tufted duck looked the best. One of the hotels in the town got a very sketchy review!!!!

Have you been across to Barra or Tiree?

The hotels in town are all dumps. The Tufted Duck is the best for kiting as our south wind spot is right below it (food is good and rooms are nice too).

Never been to Barra or Tiree yet, but definately soon!!
