A question about comps??

Shoot the breeze and stay in the loop with the unhinged and unhooked word on the street.

A question about comps??

Post by wackos00 »

I'm thinking about entering some comps and was wondering what the standard is at the ams. I'm not looking to win but I dont like coming last!

What sort of stuff are the participants landing?

Cheers,

Wackos

Its not about what you can do on the water it's about the spirit of the game.

Or is it how much you can drink and still sail the next day beacuse thats the hardest thing iv found about competing.

More about riding consistent and managing to get out in the right heat!!!

I got 2nd overall last year and still can't do handlepasses, but can be irritatingly consistent :-D

Wacko ignore anything you read on here of what the standard is i.e board offs handlepasses etc. thats what people can do maybe 1 in 10 at there local beach when the conditions are right. when its comp time anyone can do well even with simple backloops and front loops. its all hyped out MAJORLY what the 'standard' is. anyone who goes into the ams pulls a nice double backloop and some big jumps etc wins hands down over som1 who can barely handlepass and messes it up trying stupid stuff.

as for the northern kiters wanting to whip others. lance could take u all put together and any combination of 4 goring kiters would make you wish you didn't kitesurf. HANGTIME!

gauntlet laid down!

Ali, been trying some flat 3s, unhooked backloop to blind with surface pass, unhooked backloop kiteloop to blind with a surface pass not had much success and not going to be doing them in the comps unless miracles happen pretty fast!

However... have been doing some massive pussyloops, huge downturn loop transitions and other bits & bobs.

come down anytime for a session... got transport yet? i heard you found a new driver?

he has no mates outside the sand dunes around dusk

lewis makes good points regards comps - major difference between free sailing and competitions

ali you got the score card from our heat at big freeze

1- 0
