and the award for top 7m kite goes to

Post by dedalus »

well - lets hear it - anyone tried the 7m obsession? - plenty of opinions about the top 9/10m kite - but we all know it doesnt allways translate.

Love to try a wainman - looks quite similar to the obsession - ie very low aspect.

I want a bit of safety but not too much - and I dont like that "too solid " feeling from out and out bows - I like the kite to give a bit. Big fan of the 10M vapor - but truth be told it is a bit vague when depowered too much

opinions from those who spend thier own cash please

Mine

Fraser you know what the Rev is like and on Sunday Andy was struggling on his, Leo would not take his 7m Fuel out as it was too mental so in the end it was me and young Euan on his 7m Type 9. There are no 7m obsession in the country yet, but if like the T9 with more depower then I think it should be fine..... but you not a bit too old for a kite like that

See you for a beer and a kite on Saturday

Well its a slingshot from me.........

tried the 7m T3 quite a bit nice kite but too heavy on the bar and with the pullied bar too vague on steering

Had a quick blast on a 7m rev....whoooooo...thats fast...i would say as fast as my 5m vapour.
problem i found its so so light on the bar and so fast that my timing was all out...but a bit more time on it i'm sure i'd get it.
i could steer it from one side of the window to the other with one hand round the depower rope which was great fun...

But the best ever kite in the 7m flavour (imo) ................fuel............ 8) 8) (because its my kite and i've had it for 18 months)

I am finding my 7m Type 9 rrd very fast.been out 3 times on it now still not totaly comfortable with it.
dose the cutout in the middle make it faster then other designs.
A Fast kite is good for kiteloops but also gets you in trouble with windsurfers.
So if any one has flown a type 9 or obsession shape kite and can compare to other designs,i would appreciate your feed back.

i got a 7m 07 fuel 9 months ago. i was a bit apprehensive about getting it TBH, but its fantastic, it was the right kite for me, made me buy a full quiver. good in the gusts, easy relaunch, iv had it out in 55mph on 4 lines, with 5 it would go more, insane :-D

put it on your list to try

But that can be down to questionable sizing sometimes. I've seen a 7m and a 9m kite laid flat, and measured and they were near enough the same physical size :?

Not saying that the Hadlow Pro is, but it happens

I vote for the Torch4 - although I nonly have the 8m I reckon the 7m will be just as sweet
