Second board help...

Post by alibream »

Hi folks, i have had my North Gonzalez since learning to kite and as its a 2009 (bought second hand) its now looking a bit worse for wear and the bindings have seen better days. I am progressing to bigger jumps, back rolls and think a newer board would benefit me at this stage. I ride only in the typical UK chop and have been looking at the Shinn Monk (like everyone) and the North Range (i think x ride would suit) can anyone give me any recommendations or pointers? Much appreciated. Ali

Where do you fly? Demoing some kit will give you a better idea of what you like over people's opinions.

I don't know about north Wales but a little trip to south wales will give you access to all the Stuff that Blast kiteboarding stock, I know Marc has a good range.

I get out the most at New Brighton or West Kirby in the North West. How far south are the Blast guys based?

Blast is Porthcawl.

Have you tried contacting Mike at Ktwodistribution.com for a demo for any of the Shinn boards

I recommend doing lots of board swaps with people while you are out - I kite NB too, and I reckon everyone there would be happy for you to have a quick 10 mins on their board. You're welcome to try mine if you like - Hadlow 138. I've also used the Xride you mention, and it was a really nice feeling board too.
