I think all my mates have just had enough of all the constant Sponsor me for this and that..

I'm self employed and therefor not in a group like a work place where you can ask people..

last year was great almost £400 but this year with only 50 odd days to go i'm still stuck at £20 ! :?

my family will chip in soon I'm sure but I have noticed alot of people this year on facebook in general doing lots of different events to raise the money for a charity of their choice or another. But I'm thinking their all charity'ed out!

it's put me off putting in for it for next year.. I daren't ask! :?

I'm the same, I'm sitting at £70 odd just now and people aren't keen on sharing the dish out . might be better making a sponsorship form and jar your mates on the spot and get them to hand the cash over there and then award put the money in yourself and mention their names on your page.

Well I'm chuffed now I'm over the line ( £100 ) I'm at £120

it's put me off for next year, only because I feel I would have to ask them all over again 3rd time running :?

But lets see it's another year away.. I might even win the lotto buy then, so I can sponsor my self

But just out of interest are others having the same problem..I got mates doing Runs, Bike rides, Hill walking all for charity and I've counted 9 on my facebook in the last 2 months

I know I'm going to sound like a grumpy miserable twat, but I do get fed up of sponsoring people to do things which they are clearly going to love doing, and they would probably do off their own back for nothing anyway: like walking up Kilimanjaro, or skydiving, or (forgive me) going kitesurfing, or abseiling, or zip lining, or a 3000 mile motorbike ride - all of which sound like bloody good fun and I'd love to do. It just feels like I'm making a contribution to them having a good time rather than them fork out themselves.
There's a dude in my office who seems to want sponsoring every week for everything from paintballing to knitting.
If it were something that was actually a challenge and involved some serious effort and hardship, I'd be more likely to consider it.
Get yourself out and run 4 marathons back to back and I'll give you £20 for your effort.

it's funny it's come around again and I am really torn to do it again or not.. the first time was the best hands down and so stoked we all did it.. brilliant

second time was a let down but still a great weekend but the weather turned against us nothing any one can do.. but really.. I struggled to Chug more money out of the people I knew and to do it again I think I can't I would have to stump up and do it my self and that's £100 £40 and £40 camping. I totally get the whole costs thing.. big event to run and spend out on in terms of the outlay.. Iam going to think about it..

at worst case as I only live up the road I could be back up.. Dan and his team did a brilliant job last year esp as the wind was a let down.. I still have not claimed my WR for the SUP! I must do that really.. :-(
