Tony, please move if in the wrong place.
Hi all, those who have been around for a while and competed on the BKSA circuit will know me from running the kite school at Earnse Bay and organising multiple BKSA events there. We now have issues as since the winter storms the road to the shorefront and ramp has been closed, funding of a reputed £600,000 has been awarded and the sea defences are due to be started at the end of August, the problem is I recently found out that the Marine Management Org and Natural England have directed the council to not reinstate the road access to the shorefront which if you have visited you will know what effect this will have . The reasons they give is that vehicular access has caused damage to vegetated shingle so I am of course asking for proof as a start point and looking into the access history of the beach etc etc. What I am asking for is support in the way of simply signing an online petition I have set up, this can back up the rest of the work I'm on with. Many thanks. http://www.activism.com/en_GB/petition/ ... tion/62877" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for your actions Gary. I'm a regular at Walney and the loss of the beach front access is a real blow to the kitesurfing community and all the other folk who enjoy the beach. I've signed the petition and shared it with all my kitesurfing friends. Let's hope the council can see sense.
