Sound. Wind was looking sweet for Blackpool other day but now possibly dropping off, but you know what it's like, seems to change daily. Will have a good idea by Thursday / Friday I think. If its on I'll be going so if you wanna lift share up there then give me a shout. Live in Lichfield but prob best I could drive across to m6 and meet up somewhere near there.

Never been Blackpool for surf,, anygood? Flat, choppy, muddy, sandy, shallow, deep?

I was considering heading to shoey (3hrs) to try out some new kites and boards from CORE, as I'm due a new quiver this year but it I can wait a few weeks.

Blackpools decent (well it's more lytham). Conditions usually pretty flat, but gets bit more choppy with a strong onshore wind. Fairly shallow for most part depending on tide time. Plus you'll normally get to watch Hannah Whiteley making it look easy! It's mostly there or wirral for me, thrhre just the closest, you can get to wirral in bout 1 1/2 if you mission it.
wind possibly looking off for Blackfoot now. Where is shoey??

I have a few favourite places, shoeburyness in the south east (shoey) is one of them depend on the wind as always,,it's a good jaunt but we'll worth it. Aberavon/port talbot in south Wales Is ok. We got a bungalow in Penzance that I visit occasionally - no end of surf locations there! Good pubs aswell.
Think I know lytham, I just never got round kite surfing up that way,,
I also want to try Anglesey apparently its good.

I don't usually check the weather till Thursdays - it's a bad luck thing I have. Fingers crossed

Well wind looking like it's spun round to a breezey south easterly for this weekend. Makes it off shore for north west, so only options would be anglesey or south east I guess. Not sure I'm feeling a 6 hour round trip this weekend, tend to stop over in camper and make a weekend of it if I do that but too chilly for the van at moment! Unless it changes drastically I may try and get out in the week instead. Looked at shoey on map, do you have any problem with the groynes?, or is the tide out way past them when you're out?

There not a problem, tide goes a long way out (shoey mile)
With the tide in kiters just steer well clear, there big, you can't miss em! Unless your blind and not very bright. But it really is an excellent spot, mainly as it's huge!! I've been many places and often find that you can quickly run out of space - but that's never happened to me in shoey,
Your right though it's a long juant,, but defiantly worth a visit.
Speakin of campin trips, hopefully doing quite a few this year.

I'm still not sure which direction to head yet.

Did you get out Brett? Well up for a few trips away if you or anyone else on here wants to meet up with campers over the summer? Had a good few days up at rhosenigr last Year so know anglesey pretty well, and borth etc. End of Feb I've booked to fly out to Malaga with a few mates, were road tripping with kite gear along south Spain into Portugal, should be sweet! Done tarifa before, the rest will be exploring. May set up a facebook group for any of us stuck in the midlands, could be easier to see when each other post etc, I'll stick a link on here so anyone reading this feel free to join up to that and hopefully we can plan some decent trips along the way.

anyone on here on facebook welcome to join up to this page. Make it easier for sorting lift shares, just post if youre planning on heading to the coast so we can share advice on locations, weather, places to stop over, or anything else that crops up. Want to make kitesurfing more accessible to those of us that no longer live anywhere near the coast!, its well worth the journey everytime.
