Wind Sardinia

Shoot the breeze and stay in the loop with the unhinged and unhooked word on the street.

Just looking at the forecast for the next week in the north and it looks fairly pants. Does anyone know if the thermal registers on windguru or if it's something that just comes through.

I am heading out in september to porto pollo too...

I think the forecasts under-predict quite a bit (like mauritius if you have been there), there's both thermal and venturi driving the winds

looking forward to hearing your reviews / recommendations

I'm aware Porto Pollo is the place to Kitesurf but are you allowed to Kitesurf along the southern coast lines towards San Teodoro???

I was in Corsica a few years back and most days there was no wind but one day it did kick in. Will report back next week.

I like the island, pretty & rustic, would defo recommend hiring a car and may come back in the autumn for a long weekend JUST for kiting to get around the island a bit more.

Pretty much another windless week 2nd to 9th July. A couple of days where guys were just about going on their Foil Kites (10 knots wind) and 1 day at the end with over 20 knts. I was ok in the morning on my 12 and still hanging onto it in the afternoon when everybody was on their 8s. Windguru forecast was pretty much spot on. Locals reckoned there should be more wind < but then again I have heard that before!! Chris

Hi,
With reference to the wind for kitesurfing in Sardinia, you can find some interesting information, as well as other useful information on the page https://kiteboardingsardinia.com/

Many people just consider Porto Pollo for Kitesurfing. MY personal opinion is that the south of Sardinia is much better that Porto Pollo.
In Porto Pollo the wind is really gusty. In the Southern Sardinia, there are many spot for kitesurfing and the wind in steady.

Happy new year and get as musch wind as possible :)

The east coast of Sardinia is usually not so windy, so no good for kitesurfing.
You can have a look at the page Sardinia Kitesurfing Spots

There you can find many useful information on where to kitesurf and where having lessons in Sardinia.

Wow, thanks for the 2 and a half year response!!!!

I have since found a couple more spots on the north eastern points.

Le Vecchie Saline or La Saline - Flat and has a windsurfing spot on the other side.

San Teadoro DOES have kitesurfing at the far end of the beach.

Also La Caletta is decent too just south of Budoni.
